1. Why is my salt tank full of water?
A salt tank full of water usually indicates an issue with the brine draw cycle, where the water softener isn’t properly drawing out the brine solution during regeneration. Of course, it’s always smart to see what type of DIY repairs you can do first!
Common Reasons for a Salt Tank Full of Water:
You might be looking at a full tank of water because of a clogged drain line or a malfunctioning valve. Checking to see whether the drain line is kinked or clogged might be enough to solve your issue. Correcting this will then allow the water to flow out and keep your salt tank from being full of water.
There’s also the chance that your water softener just wasn’t installed correctly! Sometimes we see water softeners that have water backflowing into the system, all from a bad installation. But issues can also be related to damaged parts, like a malfunctioning valve or a problem with the float in the brine tank. Water Softener Salt Bridge Problems:

Taking a broom handle or another object to poke through the salt bridge and break up the pieces might get the job done. You just want to be careful that you don’t cause further damage to your system.

4. Why is my water softener making a weird noise?
