Want a Free RO System? Take the Clean Water Pledge!
There are plenty of small steps we can take to make a positive difference in our local community—and for the environment. That’s why we want to shine a light on water conservation this month. To help spread the word, we’re excited to donate one of our most popular home water filtration systems to support a fantastic local cause. We hope this inspires you to make your own water pledge for water conservation!
Clear Choices Clean Water and the HEC
Our friends at the Hoosier Environmental Council (HEC) help lead the way for Indiana’s wilderness and waterway protection efforts. As such, they’re passionate promoters of Clear Choice Clean Water, a national campaign that encourages individuals and families to learn more about water conservation and sustainability.
The campaign itself focuses on a different water issue each month, and the HEC does a fantastic job of detailing the types of actions we can take to help our state become an even better place to live. The issues surrounding clean water are a year-round concern, but tackling the key concerns one at a time can help make it easier to support long-term change.
Indiana Water Conservation—Indoors and Outside
The Clear Choices Clean Water theme for August 2020 is water conservation. The beauty about this month’s water pledge is that there are a handful of different ways for you to do your part. These are all smart ways to reduce your water usage inside:
- Turn off the faucet while brushing teeth
- Shorten time in the shower
- Fix a leaky faucet or toilet
- Install low-flow shower heads, faucets, or toilets
- Upgrade to an Energy Star washing machine or dishwasher
Of course, water conservation needs to happen outdoors as well. Making the decision to cut back on your water usage toward the end of summer works to safeguard the community water table. What’s more, it’ll also save you some money on next month’s water bill. Consider adding a few of these action items to really make your home water-efficient:
- Only water the lawn before 9am (or after 10pm)
- Stop watering the lawn from August through mid-September
- Install mulch around trees and plant beds to slow water evaporation
- Use a bucket of water to wash the car—not the hose
- Sweep the driveway/walkway instead of cleaning with water
The better we can preserve and protect our natural resources, the better everyone will be. We have so many great state parks, trails, and waterways to explore here in Indiana. Keeping them clean and safe will help ensure our families can enjoy them for generations to come. That starts by keeping a closer eye on our water usage.
Take the Pledge and Enter for a New RO System!
Through the month of August 2020, any individual within our service area who adds their name to the Indiana Clear Choices Clean Water pledge can be entered into our Indy Soft Water drawing for a brand-new reverse osmosis home water filter. (More details below!)
We specifically chose the new ERO 385 by EcoWater for this donation because it’s the first reverse osmosis water filter to reduce water waste by a one-to-one ratio. Plus, it’s the first RO water filter to remove PFAS contaminants. To us, this is absolutely the best of the best for home water filtration. Plus, it’s a great way to complement this year’s Indiana Water Summit. Now what are you waiting for?
Now what are you waiting for? Go take your water pledge, and then save a copy of your pledge confirmation. It’s a great way to complement this year’s Indiana Water Summit, and we’ll be drawing for a winner at the end of the month!
